Why may we use your data?
According to privacy legislation, we have to say which ‘legal grounds’ we have to use your data.
Well, as an intermediary (a broker is a regulated profession in Belgium) we need your data to be able to search with you for a property in Spain that suits you. For example:
• A visit to Spain
• Reservation of a property in Spain.
In addition, we can use your data for ‘legitimate interest’. This means that we want to provide all our customers/prospects with the best possible personal service. We always think about your privacy. This is true for:
• Visit one of the Azull websites
• Newsletter & e-mail
• Personal advice
• Social media
• Reviews & customer satisfaction survey
• Contact one of our employees.
Or other customer-friendly initiatives that we will report to you in advance.
We may also have a statutory obligation/interest to use your data, for example when we suspect fraud.
For example: In the framework of the Money Laundering and Fraud Regulations, we need to know with whom we (possibly) do business.
And sometimes you have given us permission to use your data, such as when you sign up for the newsletter, on an information evening or a trade fair.
We all register this accurately.
Who has access to your data?
We ourselves the owners and employees of Azull. And then only on a “need to know” basis.
Our aftersales employees cannot look in the list of all prospects and our salespeople can only access your data as soon as a visit to Spain is planned. Only 3 people have a complete overview of all data: the General Management and the Commercial Director.
And we only pass on your data to other parties if that is really necessary to give you a good service. Parties such as external employees, building promoters, contractors, lawyers, notaries, other brokers, travel agencies, IT service providers and parties that collect our reviews.
We also call upon parties such as data management platforms, media, and advertising agencies and research agencies as soon as we want to give you personal advice or show targeted advertisements. For example, based on your place of residence when it concerns information evenings that we organize in your neighborhood. In suspicious situations, we are obliged to share client data with government agencies.
The parties that have access to your data may only use these to provide you with a service on behalf of Azull. Unless they are responsible for obtaining and protecting your data. But one thing is certain: We never really sell your data to third parties. We give you our word of honor!
Where are your details stored?
We store your data in different databases. We always apply strict security measures.
All your data is stored within the European Union. In the exceptional case, that customer data is transferred to countries outside the European Union, we ensure that your privacy is protected in an appropriate manner. This has been officially established for a number of countries. Some American parties have registered under the Privacy Shield that offers sufficient protection.
How long do we keep your data?
We do not store and use your data for longer than necessary. Then we delete all data we have from you. Or do we use your data anonymously, because we need certain data for internal analyzes and reports such as: how many Belgians and Dutch people bought a building on the Costa del Sol in 2017 via Azull and whom we got to know via a real estate exhibition.
But how does that really work?
Well, we keep certain deadlines, and then we delete your data. Like:
If you have subscribed to a newsletter or have given permission to receive personalized messages, if you have left your details on an exhibition or information evening, we will retain that permission for 5 years.
Even if you decide at some point that you no longer wish to receive the newsletter or personalized messages, we will retain the withdrawal of your request.
After that period we only use your data anonymously, for internal analyzes and reports.
Requests for a building, inactive client accounts we remove after 5 years. After that period we only use your data anonymously, for internal analysis.
Customers who bought:
For the tax authorities, we have to keep our records for your invoice, payment and reservation data for 7 years.
But we do a little more than 3 years on top of that because the liability of the architect and the construction company run until 10years after completion.
After that, we only use anonymous data for internal reports.
